Borrowed thoughts

Your relentless war
killing, demolishing
anything, anyone
you feel threatened with...
and thus go on
with your borrowed thoughts.

Look inwards into your fears
perhaps you will find
better answers
that you do not see
in the chaos of your borrowed thoughts.

Look inwards what have you done
to others in the name of your fears
or are those your god
or some denomination -
Creation of your borrowed thoughts.

Look inwards before it is too late
the wars you continue to wage
will turn around one day
when people will stand
against what they shouldn't tolerate anyway:
your borrowed thoughts.

Look inwards now
right now
and see the absurdity
the fears
the surreality of your being
You, product of borrowed thoughts.

(on learning about the demolition of the Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Bhavan in Mumbai on June 24, and the zillion other sad incidents that rest on hatred and fear across the world)

Choosing

Choose leaders carefully
lest they assign important tasks
chasing needless ideas
a purposeless purpose
sense of worth
that destroy, divide
hurt.

Face down, on a crossroad
lost time for companion
you inhale hard
burnt tar.
The path slipped away
while you were drunk
on their words.

Follow naught.

IT and health care?

Recently found this journal, VOICES (Vol. 5 No. 2, October 2001), with an article I wrote 15 years ago, on the hype created around 'IT uplifting Health care' etc.  Serves an apt reminder of how new words / phrases are thrown around to make us believe that things are changing for the better.
