Blood Rain

It rained blood the other day;
amid shouts of joy
and drum rolls
on dusty streets
and broken flowers;
deep red,
luke warm,
and made it's way to the gutters
without delay.

I shuddered.
They laughed.
Votes,
they said
and danced away,
soaked in red rain
the other day.
